During the planning phase, we had the opportunity for extended meetings with the school to develop a clear brief about how the space would be used, with an emphasis on agile furniture and modularity to ensure that the space could respond to different size groupings and different activities. Nesting tables at different heights, mobile storage, wall mounted folding tables and our Exploration Centre with interchangeable tops, as well as roleplay, construction platforms, light tables and canopies to create quiet ‘nests’.
